Don't miss District Serve Day – Saturday, August 23
Our churches are once again invited to embrace our world with the hope of Jesus by serving our local communities. Last year, many of our churches and mission areas partnered to plan and implement various community service projects, sharing the love and hope of Jesus through acts of service. This year, you and your church won’t want to miss the opportunity to make an impact once again.
In the Topeka area, churches are preparing to reach their city and surrounding areas by partnering with Convoy of Hope for a day of community outreach training and food distribution. For more information, please contact Rev. Jay Jellison. On the same day, churches in the Shawnee area will be serving widows and widowers through small home improvement projects and raising funds to support orphans. This will be done in partnership with Both Hands Ministry and NCM. For more information, contact Rev. Esther Fairbanks, and be sure to attend the NMI Workshop on July 18 during District Assembly.
And that’s not all! From partnering with back-to-school initiatives to supporting local non-profit organizations or blessing a nearby church in need, we encourage your church—and other churches in your mission area—to come together, plan, and serve. Below, you’ll find a list of some of our District Compassionate Centers and approved mission specials in case you’d like to collaborate with them.
Whatever the Lord places on your heart to do, we invite you to share your plans by completing the District Serve Day form. There, you’ll have the opportunity to request help from the district to promote your project to other churches. And don’t forget--once your project is complete, send us your photos so we can celebrate and share the good news of what God has done through you in our district newsletter!
