What is District Convention?

An annual district NMI convention shall be held to:
  • Report on ministry and mission activities
  • Engage in corporate prayer
  • Share information and inspiration
  • Present future plans
  • Conduct official business related to the organization

Convention Membership
a. Eligibility
Only members of the respective district are eligible to serve as ex officio or elected delegates.
b. Ex Officio Members
The following shall serve as ex officio members of the convention:
  • District NMI Council
  • District Superintendent
  • All assigned ministers
  • Full-time salaried associate ministers of local churches
  • Lay members of the District Advisory Board
  • Local NMI Presidents (of the assembly year just ending)
  • Newly elected NMI Presidents or Vice Presidents (if the new President cannot attend)
  • Global NMI Council member (if residing on the district)
  • Retired assigned ministers
  • Retired missionaries
  • Missionaries on home assignment
  • Missionary appointees
  • Former District NMI Presidents who retain membership on the district
c. Elected Delegates
  • Must be NMI members age 15 or older
  • The maximum number of elected delegates per church is based on the following formula:
    • 2 delegates from each local NMI with 25 members or fewer
    • +1 additional delegate for each additional 25 members or major portion thereof
  • Membership count is determined from the NMI membership reported at the local NMI annual meeting when elections take place.
Delegate Allocation:
  • 1–25 members → 2 delegates
  • 26–50 members → 3 delegates
  • 51–75 members → 4 delegates
  • 76–100 members → 5 delegates
  • … and so on, increasing by 1 delegate for each additional 25 members or major portion thereof.
