Crisis Care Kits

How to Pack a Crisis Care Kit

Follow these steps to make a difference through compassionate service.

✅ Step 1: Gather Kit Items
Pack only new items in a clear 2.5-gallon zip-close plastic bag:
  • 1 medium-size bottle of shampoo (12–18 oz.)
Tape flip-top closed with heavy packing tape. No medicated shampoos.
  • 2 bath-size bars of soap in original packaging
  • 1 medium toothpaste (4.0–6.4 oz.)
Expiration date must be at least 18 months away.
  • 3 toothbrushes in original packaging
Do not include only children's toothbrushes.
  • 1 box of adhesive bandages (30+ count)
    No medicated bandages.
  • 1 fingernail clipper
    No toenail clippers.
  • 1 large, sturdy hair comb
  • 2 hand towels (approx. 15” × 28”)
No kitchen towels, bar wipes, or washcloths.
  • 4 pocket-size facial tissue packs
  • 1 soft, huggable stuffed toy (6–8 inches)
  • 7 unscented, individually wrapped sanitary pads (regular absorbency), placed in a 1-quart zip-close bag

📦 Step 2: Pack Kits in Banana Boxes

  • Obtain banana boxes from a local grocery store.
    They’re ideal for uniform shipping.
  • Cut the brown paper from the box in half:
    • Place one half in the bottom.
    • Tape the other half over the hole in the lid.
(Plain cardboard may be used if needed.)
  • Fill each box with exactly six kits.
  • Do not insert money, notes, or church literature.
  • Use strong packing tape to seal all holes on top and bottom.
    • Leave box handles open.
    • Only tape the box shut if shipping by mail.

✉️ Step 3: Label the Box
  • Write the sender’s name and address (church or donor) in the "From" section.
  • Write the destination warehouse address in the "To" section (see below).
  • Do not wrap the box in brown paper or place it inside another box.

🚚 Step 4: Ship the Kits
Send the boxes to the following:
For shipping via the USPS to Fawn Grove:
